The District initiative scheme is proposed to provide immediate financial support in terms of Economic Support Schemes (to be decided at the District level as per local market potential and interest / skills of the beneficiaries) to the deserving / needy poor HIV /AIDs victims, disabled persons (with disability more than 60 %), at the discretion of the District Collector/Chairman as part of providing immediate relief for their survival. Identification and Certification from competent authorities is compulsory for the beneficiaries under above two categories. No cash disbursement is permitted under this programme, and the grounding of the units shall be done only in the form of scheme / asset.
Assistance to Gudumba effected persons
Consuming Gudumba is a greator of major health hazard, which causes total damage to the health of mankind. In course of time it has become a social problem besides a personal loss to the family who is effected by gudumba. The families effected by gudumba became most vulnerable and needs help of the Government for financial assistance to overcome the drastic poverty conditions. The Government positively responded to help the gudumba effected families, and got it surveyed by the excise Department. The excise department identified 1687 gudumba effected persons from Scheduled Castes Community. The Government have issued G.O.Rt.No.216 Revenue (Excise–II) Department, Dated.23.03.2017 for taking up rehabilitation programme to all the gudumba effected persons with the financial support upto Rs. 2.00 lakhs for each person. The amount of assistance has to be met by the respective welfare corporations which are providing financial assistance under self employment schemes, to create assets for their rehabilitation and their economic settlement.
Accordingly TSCCDC is proposing to rehabilitation 1687 SC gundumba effected persons during this year under SCAP 2017-18 with the financial support of Rs.33.74 Crores by way of grant at Rs.2.00 lakhs for each person for setting up of various economic support schemes under ISB Sector without any bank linkage as per the funding pattern indicated in the SC Action Plan. The Executive Directors should take proper care for the rehabilitation of these Gudumba Effected Persons to come out of their present situation and to lead a respectable life in the society with the units established by them.
